Christianity (from Ancient Greek Christos, "Christ" literally " the anointed ") is a religion Abrahamic monotheistic based on the life and teachings of Jesus of Nazareth as presented in the biblical canon and other writings of the New Testament .followers believe that Jesus is the Son of God and the Messiah (or Christ) prophesied in the Old Testament, who died for the redemption of the sins of mankind, and rose again three days after his death. Buddhism began as an offspring of Hinduism in India. The founder was Siddhartha Gautama. It is not easy to give an accurate historical account of the life of Gautama, as it did not register any life to hundreds of years after his death. Today, much of the story of his life is shrouded in myth and legend that arose after his death. Even the best historians of our day have several different-and contradictory-the life of Gautama. This paper compares the two religions, Christianity and Buddhism, and their central beliefs.
Religious Teachings
The goal of Buddhism is nirvana, a word that means "extinction" of the fires of all desires and absorption of one at infinity. Buddhists do not worship a person or a god, but still a system of thought, meditation and mind exercises based on the teachings of Siddhartha Gautama ( Buddha , the Enlightened One). His doctrine, transmitted orally during the lifetime of Buddha by his followers, was collected by written long after his death.
The doctrine of Buddha is summarized in the Four Noble Truths, namely:
All existence is unsatisfactory.
The dissatisfaction is caused by the desire for something permanent in the world when there is no permanence.
It is possible to achieve the cessation of dissatisfaction, nirvana.
Nirvana can be achieved by following the Eight Steps.
