Chris Dod - CT Senator

Christopher John Dodd is a liberal senator from the state of Connecticut who briefly was a candidate for the 2008 Democratic Party nomination for the Presidency(Wilson 21). He dropped out of the race after a disappointing finish in the Iowa caucuses.

In 2003 Dodd offered an amendment to the Emergency Supplemental Appropriations for Iraq and Afghanistan Security and Reconstruction Act, 2004, which added $322 million to the $300 million already appropriated towards the purchase of "high-tech body armor, bullet-proof helmets, special water packs to keep soldiers hydrated, and other survival gear."
