ABSTRACT

In this research study the main focus is on the choice theory by William Glasser on educational institution like Kuwait University. The study shows finds out the need of implementation of choice theory in Kuwait University. After analyzing the research paper by various methods it can be concluded that the choice theory should be implemented in Kuwait University in order to develop students' personality and that would be beneficial for their career.

CHAPTER 1: INTRODUCTION

Background

Education plays a vital role in the personality development of an individual. Education is defined as is a purposeful process of education and training to people, society, and state, accompanied by a statement of national achievement established by the state education levels (educational qualifications). The level of general and exceptional education is conditioned by the requirements of production, the state of science, technology and culture, as well as public relations. Also, it can be defined as purposeful cognitive activity of people that acquires knowledge, skills, or improve them. In this research study, the focus is on the William Glasser's choice theory and its implication on the Kuwait University.

William Glasser started to formalize the Realist theory of treatment in 1962 as a new theory based on a set of concepts and scientific principles, and from the belief of the importance of education and its role in the progress of peoples. William Glasser started to adapt his theory to fit the educational institutions, and publishes his ideas in his famous "schools without failure" in 1969. The application of the theory proves an appreciable effectiveness in the educational field. It was normal for the Realist theory of treatment to have a real interest in the scientific and, educational community, supporters and opponents.
