Chicanismo and Aztlan

Introduction

The origin of the word chicano is still a mystery. Suspect that the word indian is indigenous to the mexikas are pre-colombian and was derived from the word xixanoro, which roughly means warrior. some scoff at the indian and argue that the word comes from the very term mexican and was adopted by motion and mexican uprising in the united states out there in the sixties. We do not really know where it comes from the term, but the truth does not matter. The popular press (and the people who get carried away by the popular press) claim to be Chicano is very different from Mexican cannot say more ignorant than that. It says that the Chicano is a person who adopts the American culture as well as certain parts of Mexico.

Aztlan Chicanos have adopted as a place where the work of the indians and mexicans is recognized. where true democracy is a fact and corruption, racism, neoliberalism, and capitalism is something of the past. many believe that Aztlan is a plan to rebel against the imperialist government - although it sounds good, that's not the case (Espinoza & Ernest). Many believe that Aztlan is an ethnic cleansing as the europeans did; however a certain school of thought asserts that the case is not that (Burciaga). Aztlan is the idea of equality, recognition, and democracy for indigenous people (mexicans and others). Aztlan is not a revolution, Aztlan is peace. Aztlan is not only political force, Aztlan is clean politics (Burciaga).

Chicano is a term used colloquially mainly in the United States to refer to Mexican Americans (Espinoza & Ernest).
