The ecologists have defined vegetation in terms formations of plants, which occurred at the belt of earth as rain forest, deserts, tundra's and small vegetations. There is a direct relationship between the development of grass land and development of the human race. The human race flourished on the bed of grasslands and grassland got diversified due to the human activities on them.
They got developed around 25 million years ago and can be determined on the basis of soil, climate or geographical formations. Grassland formation takes place due to a process of biotic factors which were altered by human activities. Their species spread is conducted usually by humans. Grass lands are plagioclimaxed, and the structure is maintained by grazing pressure of animals. During the tertiary period (65mya) of development, Angiosperms continue to expand at the expense of gymnosperms as there was no sign of a human being (early primates). During the epoch of Oligocene (36mya), grassland developed and covered vast areas, with the help of animals there. The climatic conditions cooled down and hominoid races started to develop on the base of these grass lands.
Answer 2
The rise of civilizations had a direct relationship with deforestation; the more the human race developed simultaneously more deforestation started taking place for vegetation purpose. The process used to be initiated by fire, which changed vegetation patterns. This led to development of civilizations with settled agricultures. People got engage in food productions simultaneously in arts, crafts, trade, culture, hierarchical societies. Civilizations originally developed in the fertile river valleys as soils were fertile and water was available for irrigation.
The increase in population led to increase demand of food and wood. Since there was no proper soil management at that time, the harvest yield started decreasing leading to further deforestation, for more fuel, land and wood. Colonialism started taking place, and the civilizations become weak due to non-sustainable agriculture. This led to the demise of diverse civilizations.
For example, in Mesopotamia, the plains of Tigris and Euphrates rivers had a very fertile soil for irrigation and cultivation. The early Greek civilization begins there about 5500 to 539BC, with a series of powerful dynasties, which led many cultural and archeological developments beside agriculture. This era is Bronze Age. Therefore, mismanagement of salinity in the land there was a decline in crop yield, which gradually led to the downfall in civilization with invaders driving in as more deforestation took place.
Answer 3
In Europe, during the 19th century, there was a shift in colonialism, from rural to urban lands, which posed less pressure from on deforestations. With new inventions on surge and iron replacing woods in transportations and oils as fuels, rural population growth was at ease and living standards rose gradually. Agriculture became more efficient and smaller land yield increased in late 19th century. Currently, Europe is noticing an increase in forest areas and several countries of Europe are now reporting more forest growth as to harvest. The transitional argument between net deforestation cease is ...
