Charity And Volunteering

Introduction

Razed Roof is an inclusive performing arts company for people with and without (severe) learning difficulties and disabilities. The company believes that the performing arts provide opportunities to improve the quality of life for everyone involved. Our aim is to bring these opportunities to the communities and individuals that we work with. It is a voluntary organisation, which also performs charity work (Charity Commission, 2010, p. 2-33). Charity is generally understood as a person willing to help others. It is based on an act and is not restricted to a feeling of sympathy or emotional attunement. The field of meaning of the term "neighbor" is enough of a social or religious proximity ratio up to anyone who needs help and has for millennia been the subject of ethical and theological discussions. While it is true charity, self-sacrifice is not made, but does not make them violent self-sacrifice for the general model of a loving attention to the next. Selfless assistance and willingness to reconcile, as human behavior is found worldwide and in most religions enshrined as fundamental ethical motive (Charity Commission, 2010, p. 2-33). This paper will focus on identifying the reasons for the people to volunteer in charity work, the types of charity they volunteer for and their motivation in performing the voluntary activities in the charity work.
