Abstract

Managing quality nursing care to date without a doubt is a very important and topical issue. A profession in nursing is very challenging. Nurses face daily challenges and emergencies at work. They have many responsibilities in their workplace and are always available to respond on call. Lack of technologies and technological changes in health care produce many challenges for nurses as they are not able to communicate and coordinate effectively in teams due to which their relationship with patients and doctors get affected. Thus, in this paper it is advised that effective communication is needed between all the members of healthcare. There should be comprehensive approaches like Avaya to make better health care system in United States of America. Further nurses can prevent burnout and find a balance between professional and personal responsibilities by maintaining a constructive work environment and good self care and they should be given trainings so that they can effectively work on different technologies to improve the quality of care.

Introduction

Nursing is the ultimate academic discipline and practice profession, which has shaped leadership displayed by women throughout the pace of time. Nursing was historically viewed as an extension of a woman's role in the home. Organized nursing had its roots in religious orders of women and men, such as the Knights Templar, dating back centuries before the era of Florence Nightingale, considered the mother of professional nursing. Nightingale was a leader not only in nursing but in her country. She set the stage for leadership for the thousands of women across the world that would come behind her to lead nursing into the next two centuries.

A profession in nursing is very challenging. Nurses face daily challenges and emergencies at work. They have many responsibilities in their workplace and are always available to respond on call. Nurses provide more than medicines and medical services. They give tender loving care to their patients. They help provide a healing environment for their patients. A profession in nursing is really fulfilling and commendable. However, there are only a small number of nurses compared to the need and requirements. There are also fewer students who take up nursing courses. Hospitals experience shortages of nurses and are looking for other sources to make-up for the scarcity. There are many reasons why there is a decline of nurses. In this paper we are going to analyze five different articles related to challenges faced by nursing.
