Abstract

The primary objective of the thesis is to discuss the various challenges the supply chain control is facing in the global economy. Many studies have revealed that due to increase in globalization, especially in the twenty first century, the world has turned into a single global market place. Due to globalization, many organizations have brought competition in the international market. The studies in the dissertation have proved that supply chain has played a significant role in the growth and success of the organization. The supply chain and control have helped many business organizations in gaining competitive advantage. With the help of supply chain and its models, many companies have been able to cope up with global challenges. The dissertation has also mentioned that there is a strong association between supply chain and supply chain control which also leads to the development and success of the organization. However due to globalization and technological changes, the supply chain control is facing various kinds of challenges. The studies have stated that globalization has become the biggest challenge for supply chain control. The studies in the dissertation have proved that there are three key challenges which supply chain control is facing. The first challenge is related to risk management within the global economy. The second major issue is to move from supply chain to sales and operations planning in order to gain competitiveness. The third and last challenge is due to the environmental awareness which is existing globally. The studies have proved that supply chain is a significant part of the organization and any damage to the supply chain will lead to many problems and issues. Therefore the business organization must try to adopt adequate strategies to reduce the challenges so that supply chain can contribute to the growth and success of the organization.
