Introduction
Human beings go through four major stages in their lives. Starting from infancy, when he is at his most vulnerable and completely dependent on his parents or other people to satisfy his needs. Next comes the young adult age where he is in the prime of his life. Strength, vigor, stamina all are at their highest and he is his own master. This is followed by the mid-life time when the decline starts, problems, stress and the years start catching upto him. He is neither completely helpless but at the same time he is not as capable as he once was. The last is the old age. This is complete decline, where he is slowly reduced to an almost infant-like state. He is unable to look after himself and satisfy his needs.
Discussion
It becomes a major task to look after such people because just like infants they need virtually constant care and supervision. The problems in the care of the elderly people include the organizing and distribution of the continuum of services, resource division and cultural know-how so they know best how to act with whom. The organization needs to be self-sufficient enough or at least capable enough to make sure all the needs and requirements are met to have it run efficiently. Since all resources are finite, it needs to manage them in a proper fashion so as not to run short on any place.
Other challenges these organizations face is delivering proper care, , nursing homes, working hospitals and primary giving care centers.
