Ethical issues are the major factors that may contribute adversely to the reputation as well as the quality of nursing services. The concept of ethics encompasses the conscious and rational reflection of what should happen in the human situations and standards and expression of principles to direct the behavior. The application of ethics to nursing practice is likely to be impacted by the professional, personal, cultural, social, and political elements.

Legal issues refer to the lawful obligations, legislative compliances and legal adherence towards the professional matters. It is essential for all the nurses to be acquainted with the nursing ethics and laws and comprehend how they can be affected by the legal issues in nursing.

Legal Issues

No diagnosis on Emily's health;

Ben, the non-certified nurse, was given charge of Emily without any guidance.

Ben was confused and least bothered about the health of Emily.

Uncertified, unprofessional, and least bothered nurses.

Lack of documentation: no reports or evidences have been maintained and no notifications have been sent out.

Emily was given medicine without diagnosing her disease.

It was hard for Emily to swallow the medicines and Ben did not have any practical experience to help Emily with that.
