In August 2002, the Kosmos Energy had signed an agreement with the Government of Ghana in relation to deepwater block Cape Three Poynts Deepwater (Cape Three Points Deepwater Block), which is in the 50 to100 km from the coast. State Ghana National Petroleum Company owns in that block 15% participation.

 In October 2007, 56.66% bonus share in the block acquired Vanco Energy Russian company "Lukoil Overseas" (talks about the deal lasted from the spring of 2007). The work is designed for seven years and includes a reinterpretation of existing seismic data and conducting new profile and area seismic exploration. For 2008, the block is planned to drill one exploration well (Moxnes, 2008).
