Introduction

This case study has highlighted the issues that the company Gem Infosys is facing and has also discussed how the company has been adversely impacted by the malware attack that it had experienced. The loss that the company had faced when its operations had shut down for two complete days was not good for the future of the company. Although, the company is a software firm, it still had to experience the malware attack. The management of the company cannot understand as to why this happened and has hired me as a consultant. In this paper I will suggest how the company can improve its operations.

Discussion

First and foremost, the company should make sure that the browsers that it is using are safe and protected. They should be able to make sure that the information is protected as the company has all confidential data stored in it. They should also be able to ensure that they use the following browsers:

Mozilla Firefox (version 4)

Mozilla Firefox is the best known and most popular Linux browsers. As Netscape Communicator, the Mozilla suite was the first dominant commercial browser. Its developers eventually got the open source religion and the suite became the first prominent commercial application to be open-sourced in 1998. While it took over four years to get to the Mozilla 1.0 release, it quickly became the default Linux browser. The vI.7 suite (incidentally the last to bear the Mozilla name) includes an email client, an address book, chat client, and an HTML editor (Partida & Andina, 2010).
