Evaluation of Tim's Needs

In the given case study, it has been made apparent that Mr. Miller belongs to the category of experimental teaching. It has been witnessed that most of the time students get confused with environmental issues and their potential skills. This is the time, when a teacher has to play the role of a mentor as well as a teacher to prepare the student to deal with external pressures. Most of the students in the initial stage doubt their abilities; they believe that they don't have the right aptitude to fulfil the demands of the subject.

The problems faced by the teacher Mr. Miller in this case are teaching new skills, increase the learning ability of the student, reducing the negativity related to complex subjects of students and generalization of new skills. Mr. Miller studied the behaviour of students and observed the frequency, environment and intensity in which the required subject could be taught occurred. He evaluated the topic but he did not design the steps that he would take in order to achieve the desired result. The steps need to be incorporated one at a time to analyze the outcome of the procedure. Process and practices need to be repeated using the benefit of reinforcement and reward. Changes in the aptitude and learning ability need to be observed over time which leads to systematically behavior refining to obtain the desired outcome.

Transforming Teaching Approach

A teaching approach adopted by a teacher, should be focused to bring out the best possible outcomes of the professional teaching environment. As a class is divided into high achievers and low achievers, the aim should be to achieve maximum possible understanding of students. Mr. Miller is an innovative teacher, who experiments with the teaching opportunities. He wants to make the curriculum more interesting for the students. It is necessary to understand that the learning style of every student is not the same; a teacher should not use the same level of teaching for every student. A teacher's misconception and misunderstanding related to the knowledge and strength of the student can lead to a hindrance in learning.

Response of the Teacher

The role of the teacher Mr. Miller is professional, but he has not proven to be updated of the true abilities of the students and he couldn't easily identify the reason students are slacking. Mr. Miller was unable to provide a source of motivation for the students as most of the students were not only feeling incompetent but they had also accepted the fact that it would not be possible for him to achieve the desired result.
