Introduction
Blue Sky Software Consulting Firm has been in the market for fifteen years thus, it comes as no surprise that it faces ups and downs as is normal in the competitive world of today. Marketing and Human Resource decisions are often undertaken by the management which may lead us to the problems that are arising in the firm. In this paper I will be discussing the problems and solutions faced by Blue Sky as they struggle to maintain a dignified market share in software consulting industry. The case study has provided the facts needed to evaluate and examine the current situation at Blue Sky and the questions that must be answered are related to the improvement of the problems faced. I will attempt to understand these problems and apply which ever management principle and theory I feel is suited to the solution, thus providing a clear and understandable way to solve the problem in the context of management.

Blue Sky had been under the leadership of the founder for fourteen years, thus it is imperative that the change in leadership style causes problems for the senior employees. Not only this, since the earlier leadership style was more authoritative while the new style is democratic, inevitable and drastic changes in management and decision making procedures are to be expected. Leadership qualities do not only relate to creating a viable environment. It is a significant concept used in every aspect of our lives since, even in the most democratic situations, there must be someone in charge. The need arises because the role of organizing and facilitating a group of people must only be appointed to one individual who possesses the ability to take control. These individuals are found in almost every aspect of our lives. Our teachers, managers, artists, politicians, entrepreneurs and even parents are a form of leadership and stability in our lives, this it is critical to accept this role. The CFO of the organization as well as the former CEO both have had their way with the decision making and policies of the organization since its inception, thus with rapid leadership change and more competent and educated employers coming in to take their place, the tensions among the consulting firms may indeed rise. Leadership qualities are not to be taken lightly especially in today's fierce and cut-throat environment. The recruitment of the younger executive Susy Hubres served as a somewhat controversial decision since the young recruit had only been the Director of Planning and Marketing a year earlier. However, in my opinion this was a brave and smart leadership decision. Having done a masters and different internships as a student of Harvard, she is likely to know how to apply theoretical management frameworks into principle.
