Carnival Rides

Introduction

The purpose of this study is to expand the boundaries of our knowledge by exploring some relevant facts and figures related to Carnival rides. Amusement parks and local carnivals are focused on providing entertainment and amusement, through rides and other activities, to chidren and their families. Unfortunately, such carnival rides, can cause serious personal injury and accidents. Each year, millions of people visit amusement parks in the nation, which are a wonderful form of entertainment for people of all ages. United States has some of the world's most popular attractions. However, mechanical problems and other defects have injured and even killed dozens of visitors to these parks. Today, authorities in different states are focused on developing appropriate regulations and procedures relating to implementing safety measures for protecting the rides to cause any injuries and accidents. In this research paper the author will examine the decrease in carnival ride deaths/injuries in the last 10-20 years as safety procedures/regulations have come into effect.

Discussion

The most popular theme parks, famous in our country have many exciting rides and activities for the whole family to enjoy. It is assumed that in these theme parks, regular safety inspections are carried out and that the personnel operating the rides are qualified. Many accidents occur in amusement parks in local fairs and entertainment events of short duration. Unfortunately, the security procedures at local county fairs are not as strict as in the big theme parks. The rides are repeatedly armed and unarmed. They are also transported by roads and highways (some with irregular surfaces) around the country. When stored, the teams that make these rides are not adequately covered. Often these rides are not maintained properly, and are used in excess of their expected life. In short, the rides are not as safe as they should be. As with the improper condition of these rides at local carnivals, sometimes the staff also lacks the training to operate them. It is often the case that the staff is not adequately trained to operate these complex machines (Stoneking, 2008).

The complexity of rides means that the risk assessment, accident prevention measures, controls and maintenance of amusement rides must be done very precisely to ensure the safety of users and the public. To show that an amusement ride meets the safety guidelines, the provider, possibly in cooperation with a third party to conduct a risk analysis. This risk analysis allows to ...
