Introduction

Making a change in one's career is not a new thing in today's world. According to an estimate, the average American in any case makes a change in his/her career once in his/her life. Fearing for going to work every day on the same place and bidding time is an indication that one needs to change his career. Making a decision to change one's careers has to involve a lot of thought and consideration. One must have solid reasons behind the decision to change career of a person, and the fact that how would it affect the overall career of a person. (David 1999)

I started my career as a writer in ABC Company sometime ago, after completing my degree of Masters in Business Administration. I had decided to take on this job because at that there was no other option available. Now I have decided to change my career. For this purpose, I have devised the following nine-step plan for myself.

Step 1: Analysis of strengths & weaknesses

Identifying one's strengths and weaknesses is a very crucial part for making any decision. A huge majority of people change their careers just because they do not like the nature of their job, their immediate manager, the organization, etc. (David 1999)Finding a job that suits my strengths is the key, because then I would start liking my own job. Therefore, recognizing my strengths and weaknesses is the first step in this, because this would help me in determining the future path of my career. I really love working with figures, and analyzing things. Working with figures energizes me and it is like my passion. Therefore, a job that has dealing with figures and analyzing different things would be the best job for me.
