It is a globally accepted fact that diabetes is a crucial and hazardous disease. According to diverse scholarly sources, it has been observed that obesity has a significant impact on the occurrence of diabetes in adolescents and adults. Hence, it can be interpreted that there is a direct correlation between diabetes and obesity. Diabetes and obesity are considered as poor health outcomes and have a significant impact on the socioeconomic status of children. In addition, these health outcomes are also responsible for poor cognitive functioning and academic performance. This study is constructed to enlighten obesity and diabetes in order to evaluate their impact on the lives of children; in addition, the research analyzes diverse dimensions of healthcare in order to provide a guideline for the strategic procedure to improve healthcare services. In this study we try to explore the concept of “poor health outcomes in children” in a holistic context. The main focus of the research is on “child obesity” and “diabetes in children”. This research is based on the idea that “child obesity and diabetes” are the major indicators of poor health outcomes. Nevertheless, the research also analyzes the influence of “child obesity and diabetes” on “socioeconomic status, cognitive functioning and academic performance of children”. Finally the research describes the rational grounds that validate the fact that “child obesity and diabetes in children” are the indicators of “poor socioeconomic status, cognitive functioning and academic performance”; in addition the study provides diverse treatment procedures to cope with the problem.
