As per our topic, we will discuss about operation management and the look at the perspective that how is the business for operation managers. It is the multi dimensional and multi disciplinary field that emphasizes on organizing and managing all the organizational activities.

Operations Management

The management which is concerned with operations basically deals with the effectiveness and efficiency of the operation in development of the organization's strategic goals. Further areas of concern to operation management include to plan and to look after the operations of systems which provide services and goods that is the final product of organization. To describe briefly, operation management is the planning, organizing that is scheduling and controlling of the activities that converts inputs into outputs, here input stands for the material or the labor which an organization puts and gets finished goods and services as output. Operations management focuses on the efficient and effective planning, scheduling, using and controlling of organization's activities. This field is the merger and mixture of design engineering, quality management, production management, inventory management, accounting and many other functions.

Operation Managers

On long term basis, operation managers are responsible for taking decisions about product development that is what to make, process decisions like how to make, locating the site that is where to make and identifying the quantity that how much to make.

On a considerable level, operation manager's deals with the issues related to effectively scheduling raw materials and labors within the limits of the organization's strategy and taking neutral and collective planning decisions. They are the one who need to take the decision of employees that how many workers or employees are needed for specific task and when they are needed. They also decide that what material to choose, when they should have material delivered and what strategy should be chosen. This level of management is also concerned with daily planning and controlling of tasks. Scheduling and sequencing work assignments accordingly are their core jobs to do. The duty of operation managers holds great responsibility as the big power brings bigger responsibility.
