Case Study H. J. Hinchell
Introduction
This case study is based on UK multinational food processing and manufacturing company “H.J. Hinchell. It has its units in chief trading localities of the world, having its head office in US, from where the main strategies are devised and implemented. The main aim of this case study revolves around the communication, in order to get into the process that allow participation and feedback from the employees of the organization, which highlights the way to get success, as Hinchell is losing its market share. In this case, the main focus will be on purposing communication strategies, its linkage to corporate objectives and relation between corporate branding and corporate communication. Furthermore, internal communication audit will be disused, along with its effectiveness at practices levels. Then, the focus will be on external communication audit and its evaluation of the effectiveness. At the end of this assignment, objectives of corporate communication strategy will be planned. Because communication plays an essential role within an organization to get a competitive advantage and facilitates in achieving the desired and planned success (Crainer 2007, 46).
Task1.1: Discuss the purpose of corporate communication strategies
Corporate communication strategies play an important role within the organization and facilitates in the smooth running of business operations. There should be clearly communicated lines between staff and management with defined roles. Corporate communication strategies must correspond to diverse audiences with often divergent interests: shareholders, employees, consumers, distributors, public opinion, legislators and the media (good relations and transparency essential for them to return a good image the company, especially in times of crisis).
1.2: Assess how corporate communications link to corporate objectives
The objectives of the organization, often called corporate objectives are different from the strategies of the fact that they are much more specific in content and are often cast in terms of value. These may include desired levels of revenue or profit growth, the size of dividends or the appraised value of the shares. There is a strong link between corporate communication and corporate objectives. For an effective and systematic process, corporate objectives need to be clearly communicated to all levels of hierarchy. Corporate communication, communicates the company placing the product on the market. It focuses on:
Building a positive image and consistent with the proposed business
Define the scope of activity,
Send strong signs of ambition and determination of the company, to shareholders and business community.
