Introduction

Population of world is increasing with exponential figures; space for cities to enlarge on the earth is ending, particularly in the giant congested region, and this congestion of place on land surface so created the reason for architects to plan for different new means of intensifying through the air. We're not discussing flying metropolitan areas but, in relation to expansion in air, structures that are growing higher very quickly. In this research paper, we'll discuss two of such skyscrapers i.e. Burj Khalifa and Kingdom center Tower.

Burj Khalifa

Constructed in the “New Downtown” of Dubai (UAE), designed by the well-known “Skid mode, Owings and Merril” corporation, with height of over 828 meters (2,716.5 feet), number of floors exceeding 160, housing 30000 accommodations and a huge number of clubs, restaurants, hotels, shopping centers and entertainment places. A very big park surrounds the tower, and the expected venture cost is over 8 billion dollars makes Burj Khalifa the highest skyscraper of the time (Christopher, 2010).

Construction of Burj Khalifa is apparently supported on the official decision made by government to broaden horizons from an oil based country to an economy that is tourism and service oriented. According to spokespersons of government, it is necessary for projects like Burj Khalifa to be built in the city to acquire further worldwide acknowledgment, recognition and consequently the investment. These investments are now helping the economy of Dubai and its port to resist against the losses that are caused by financial crisis previous years.

Exterior building accounts are also been placed with a US$217 million fountain system. The system is 900ft long and capable to let off water 490ft upright. It is known as Dubai fountain; this fountain system has been enlightened with 6,600 lights, 50 colored projectors and adjunct to a large variety and range of traditional and classical Arabic music (Jimmy, 2009).

Kingdom Center Tower

Kingdom Centre was considered from the start as an iconic mark of Saudi Arabia, and the ultimate blueprint was chosen after a 3-year process. AL-Mamlka Tower also known as Kingdom Center is symbol of creative and unique architectural work performed by human being. The uniqueness of Kingdom center tower is that it is highest skyscraper ever constructed in Saudi Arabia. It has been outshined by Abraj Al Bait Towers and stand as the 56th highest and tallest building in the earth with a height of 302.3 m (992 ft).
