The following research proposal is based on the analysis of the luxury brand Burberry and its strategies during the economic recession. In chapter 1, it discusses the company, background of the study and problem statement along with the description and justification of the research approach and the ethical considerations. In the next chapter, the literature review based on the selected topic is discussed. In chapter 3, primary research methods are discussed. Next, the proposal discusses the anticipated results and the schedule of the research project with the help of Gantt chart. Finally, the proposal ends up with a concise conclusion of the findings & the collected information.

The luxury market is booming worldwide, & the related brands are booming with keen and so will the London high fashion label Burberry. The selected company for this research report is the leading luxury brand Burberry and the reason for its selection is its strong position in the economy that assisted the company to overcome the effects of recession and economic slow down.

Background of the Research

The global recession and slow down in the world's economies have been predicted to get worse, though the crises of 2008 are termed as the worst ever financial crisis since the unfathomable crisis in the year 1920. In the coming years, there can a decrease in the growth of economy for many nations and this will have a direct impact on the global consumption behaviour of consumers. At the same time, it depends on companies like Burberry that how they attract their customers to overcome the effects of recession. Therefore, I found it very interesting that the condition of economy & luxury brands have a direct relationship so it has been of interest to me to find out the response of Burberry for overcoming the effects of Global recession and slow down in economies.
