Introduction

Throughout the world, approximately 40% of boys drop out of high school, against 26% of girls. In high schools, 60% of students in pre university programs are female. Three quarters of them are graduating from college, against only 60% of boys. At university, 40% of students go to A Level, against 28% of boys. I have no doubts in mind when I produced the document on what's going on there with boys, on the underperformance of boys at school. Average test scores of boys are lower than those of girls by some measures of language skills; this has not led better results on the labor market for girls (Brown, 1994,, 2) (Brown, 1994,, 2).

Discussion

Policies and documentation are based on research under- performance of boys, particularly their skill level language, as a Canadian and widespread problem. In countries, Members of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), boys do less well than girls in reading read and write in the language proficiency tests. However, the report on the reading performance of the Program for International Student Assessment (PISA) released in 2000 categorically states that students from a socio-economic status spend, on average, less time reading (Brown, 1994,, 2) (Brown, 1994,, 2).

Average test scores of boys are lower than those of girls by some measures of language skills; this has not led better results on the labor market for girls. A study the Toronto Board of Education found that students who speak Spanish, Portuguese or Somali are more likely than any other group of students to fail their literacy test of 10-11 years. On the other hand, students from the Caribbean, Central America or South and East Africa dropout rates are much higher than the rest of the people. That does not mean that gender trends related to the choice of a material, academic success and the fact that the student completes his studies should not be considered or discussed. For example, the new profile of dropouts in Toronto would be that of a teenager living in an economical disadvantaged.

The presence of this trend gender requires a knowledge and understanding of the construction social masculinity. That means calling into question the social expectations regarding being a man and understand how these expectations affect the participation of boys in school. Learning styles of boys and a curriculum that takes account of boys the ways, in which boys are involved in literacy, are often determined by the way. They learn to compare themselves to others and how they perceive themselves. This, in turn, is influenced by issues of culture and identity, which cannot be limited to biological sex differences (Brown, 1994,, 2) (Brown, 1994,, 2).
