Introduction

Khaled Hosseini's “The Kite Runner” is a novel on the subject a boy named Amir who grows up in Kabul, Afghanistan at the time of the country's Soviet occupation. The reader begins with the childhood of Amir and steps forward through his adult life. The reader perceives him as a boy, and afterwards as the man he turns out to be (Bloom, 2009).
