Facts: There are several reasons behind the inception of Labor Union of Prisoners in North. In 1974, conception of the Labor Union was established. The core objective of this Union was related to the promotion and enhanced awareness of charitable labor union purposes. Moreover, the Union strived to improve and enhance the working conditions at prison through collective bargaining. The implemented policies and practices of the Department of Correction were strongly opposed by the Union.
