Why did the alliance between the black American and Jewish American break at the end of the civil rights movement?

Before the dawn of political correctness, after the Age of the Individual, America was busy eliminating particularities, creating a monolithic society. Chauvinism was hard at work, effacing characteristics, which were not in accord with American ideal. Thus, all minority cultures were subject to extinction by the mass Americanization taking place at the turn of the century. Since Judaism was often defined as a race with innate deficiencies, the similarities between African-American and Jewish communities are readily available.
