Purpose and Approach/Research Questions

The Purpose of the Study

In the research article “ Birth Trauma: In the Eye of the Beholder” which is done by Cheryl Tatano Beck, is basically research work which is based about the birth trauma faced by the mothers. As per the title, the researcher meant birth trauma is faced by the mothers and is considered in a different manner by the care providers.

The Significance of the Study

The birth trauma is considered as usual thing. This research focuses on the experiences of mothers who go through the trauma of birth. This research also investigated the cause of the trauma faced by mothers. Research shows that doctors focus only on the delivery of a healthy child and ignore the problems and fears faced by a woman during delivery.

Identification of the Philosophical or Theoretical Base of the Study

This research work was done for the identification of PSTD- Post Traumatic Stress Disorder in the mothers after giving birth to a child; some of the researchers have identified and analyzed the concerned phenomenon by the experiences of the experience of the women. Basically, this phenomenological study studies the literal meaning of the experiences of women's birth trauma.

The assumptions were viewed as an actual experience of the participants, who have actually gone through with the same phenomenons. The data collection procedure also followed a procedure of sampling that only included such participants who have actually faced the same situation.

Data Collection

The Data Collection Process

The data collection process for this study was descriptive phenomenon. Because, this study has taken into consideration the mothers who just gave the birth to their children's. The formal philosophical framework of descriptive phenomenology is generally credited to Edmund Husserl.
