According to the Darwin's theory, only very few lizards landed individually on the island, and since there was no other species on the island, it helped the lizards to grow their population to a large extent. As a result of which many different groups of lizards started to become inhabitants at different niches. The lizards lived in the separate areas of the habitat, and survived feeding themselves with different food items, and as time passed by they became a separate species of their own (Richards, Robert, 1992).
