Introduction

Aurora health care is non-profit health care organization situated in Milwaukee, USA. Aurora health care is a group of hospitals, clinics and pharmacies, which includes over 13 hospitals, over 90 clinics and more than 78 pharmacies. It has a workforce of about 28,000 employees, which includes 3380 physicians, and has one of largest workforce in the private sector hospitals in the Wisconsin's. After its inception in 1984, Aurora has continuously spread itself by acquiring local clinics and hospitals, and by making new hospitals.

In 1984, Good Samaritan Medical Center and St. Luke's Medical center made an alliance, which was called “St. Luke Samaritan Health Care”. Few years later, Mount Sinai Medical center also merged with the St. Luke Samaritan Health Care and then this alliance was renamed as “Aurora health care” (Corina, 2007). At the starting, the goal of this alliance was to control costs, provide the optimum level of service and give tough competition to the other hospitals in the locality. For some time, Aurora kept growing through making more partners, during that time many hospitals came and merged into Aurora.
