Task A:

Social influence is present in all areas of human life; society influences perceptions, attitudes, opinions, or behaviour of people. This influence is given by the relationship with individuals, groups, institutions, and society in general. Social influence is related precisely to the processes of agreement or disagreement on social norms, appropriate ways to behave according to social expectations. The social role includes a set of expected norms about how to behave. These behaviours are sufficiently rooted in the mentality that they have become almost unconscious. For some authors as Allport, social influence is the central object of study of Social Psychology. Allport, defines the study of social influence: Trying to understand and explain how the thoughts, feelings and behaviours of individuals are influenced by the actual, imagined or implied other. People intervene, sometimes as influential agent, and other target that is influenced by other human beings (Friedkin, 2001).

Social psychology examines the psychological processes involved in interpersonal influence and more effective influence tactics. It helps to increase awareness of why people behave in certain ways, to defend and get expert manipulation techniques of influence. The use of ICT to communicate also affects the social network of young people. Teenagers today have a wide network of friends and because of the new technologies; they are not physically cut off from others. Social influence is a basic social psychological process that includes all those processes in which a person attempts to influence the behaviours and attitudes of others. This includes persuasion, social conformity, social acceptance and social obedience. Sometimes social norms are detailed, explicit and yet obeyed.

Normally, the person enters a group and acquires the rules of that group through a process of socialization. The standard rule is dictated by society and reflects the standards for approval or social disapproval. The establishment of a standard involves a group of people to agree on a vision of reality. Thus, our culture and our personal experience provide a frame of reference for evaluating reality. One of the central aspects of social influence is that we do not rely only on our own experience to define what reality is. We also rely heavily on the ideas of others. In general, we are sensitive to the views of men, and therefore we are in a difficult situation when we do not have the same views.

The research in the field of social psychology is based on the analysis of the individual in society in a process of reciprocity or interaction. Individual and society are two key concepts in this type of psychology. The themes of the sociology, such as social stratification and social conflict, deeply tie in with the individual's behaviour in society. The culture, under study of ethnology, undoubtedly exerts a significant influence on the individual personality, but also the development of the latter is projected in reciprocal action thereon (Pratkanis, 2006).
