Sustainable transport policies involve the development of reconciling social, environmental and economic objectives. Transportation is connected to all aspect of life in general. Our social and economic well-being depends upon the system of transportation which is safe, clean and easily dispatches goods or people to the destined places. In the modern times, transportation trends are regarded unsustainable, and put a direct threat to our social, economic, and environment future. These trends cannot be easily altered, but require the collaboration of all stakeholders, such as industry and individuals, and all levels of government. Sustainable transport policy relies on the basis of societal and individual needs. It operates efficiently and affordable for public in general, and also offers different choice of transport mode and a vivacious economy. The policy is based on meeting the requirements of general public and to provide them economical transportation for their traveling purpose.
History of transport policy
