There is a diverse field in medicine in which one can pursue a degree. I have an interest in this field. I have planned my career goals according to my interest and abilities. People learn a lot from their personal experiences; I too, have learned numerous, important lessons in my life through my experiences. Helping others have always made me feel happy. I have always felt that by helping a person in need, you create a special bond with them. I have helped many friends and even strangers, whom I am still in contact. Seeing the appreciative look and the smile on their faces makes my day. At the end of the day, it always sooth me that I have managed to put I smile on someone's face. This always made me feel that I have done something worthwhile in my life.

College of Medicine Phoenix also gives me the opportunity to work with a experienced mentor, which will provide me reassurance and confidence that I have someone to advise me and provide feedback. Ultimately, College of Medicine Phoenix will make me as prepared as I can be for communicating with and treating my future patients. These programs that taught in College if Medicine Phoenix will help me immerse myself into the whole doctor experience by helping reinforce the concepts that I learn in class through personal practice. This will ensure that I do not just memorize facts but will truly understand concepts through application. The case-based instruction and team learning offer me the opportunity to work with fellow students and further develop my communication, and collaboration skills that will lead to the development of my clinical skills starting from early. I will be able to, continuously practice these skills all four years, further improving on my strengths and my weaknesses. Therefore, I believe I am good fit for the College.

Describe some aspect of your life within the last 12-18 months that has influenced your goal and preparation for a career in medicine.

I have overcome every obstacle of my life with hard work and dedication. I have always enjoyed working in a team, but I also relish the opportunity to work individually. I take responsibility for my dealings and actions in a challenging environment. It has always been satisfying for me, to help people. My mother has been an inspiration to me. She worked as a Head Nurse of surgery in Puerto Rico. My mother has been the strongest support throughout my life.
