Apple Computers was founded in 1976. The company is considered as one of the groundbreakers of the technological, innovative industry. Apple has its Headquarter in Cupertino, and retail branches located worldwide. The company has more than 10,000 staff. Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak were the founders of the company. In 1980, the Apple had a massive flop because of considerable technical problems (Where “Think Different” is Taking Apple, 2003, www.businessweek.com). But the American multinational has more than one trick up his sleeve and recovered from the flop in 1984 with the first Macintosh that experienced a real world success. This success was followed by many other products with different software and products like the iPod, iPhone or iPad and operating systems to the attention of both business and consumer public. Aims
The aim of this paper is to highlight the background of apple Inc case that examines the positioning and shift of Apple towards a digital hub/ the analysis f this case will provide and understanding of how the dynamic technology industry calls for frequent changes in company's strategies and positioning strategies.

Rationale
The purpose for this analysis is to highlight the Apple's shift from computer manufacturer to the digital hub strategy. Digital hub is the name that Apple has given to its new initiative that aims to gain a foothold in the market for professional digital video. In this plan, the distribution channel of Apple Company played an important role and helped Apple develop a series of more lucrative programs and softwares (Schneiders, 2011, 65).
