Antigone by Sophocles

In Sophocles' Antigone, a juvenile young female is laboring to manage what she accepts as factual it right. Antigone battles for her male sibling, Polymerizes', correct burial. Going contrary to her uncle's, King Creon's, desires she buries him anyway. According to Aristotle's Analysis, Antigone has all the characteristics of a tragic hero. (Sophocles 429)

The play focuses itself upon Antigone and her high lesson stature. A tragic champion should be better than the mean individual, but still understand that the gods contain supremacy. Antigone is propelled to entomb her male sibling who is advised a traitor by regulation for battling contrary to the town of Thebes. She understands that without a correct burial, Polymerizes, will not be adept to rest eternally and Antigone will not be adept to live with herself if she does not manage what she believes. Never endorsing down for her origin, Antigone proceeds ahead with her design, even considered the gods have desired awful luck on her family in the past. (Letters 147)

Antigone born of the regal body-fluid of Thebes carries another of Aristotle's characteristics for a tragic hero. She is the female child of Oedipus and I caste. Antigone's uncle is Creon, now the King of Thebes after her father's death. Haimon, the Prince of Thebes, child of Creon, is madly in love with her and designs to wed her. Ismene, Antigone's older sister, even endeavours to convince Antigone not to proceed contrary to the regulation by recalling her of their dad and male sibling, Oedipus, and his prophecy. "Oedipus past away, every individual despising him/... (Letters 147)Think how much more awful than these/ our own death would be if we should proceed against/ Creon/ and manage what he has forbidden!" and still Antigone stands up to her convictions despite of what may arrive of her (191).

Antigone is not timid or regretful in the direction of her actions. Pride is a decisive flaw to her character. Responding to Ismene by, "Oh notify it! Tell everyone!", Antigone does not care if other ones understand (193). In detail she would like it if her sister let every individual understand what she is doing. These performances into her second flaw, arrogance. Antigone not ever one time refutes her alternatives, but accepts as factual that she should be applauded for them.
