This research paper aims to describe the prognostic interactions of various forms of child abuse on mental diseases in the people who are abused to any substance (drug in majority cases). A detailed study for childhood trauma was made on 339 patients who were addicted to drugs or alcohol. It was found that in each kind of childhood trauma, patients had increased probability of drug use.

Childhood trauma, if remained untreated, becomes a serious threat in the later ages of life. Childhood trauma becomes a permanent cause of grief and agonizing feelings, and leads the people towards the drugs abuse.
