Athens, the capital of modern Hellas (Greece), treaded a discontinuous itinerary reaching over six millennia, of which the classical period of the ancient city-state has time and again inspired the collective memory of Western cities. On the other hand Sparta was a highly developed society that remained a distinct nation-state for more than 12 centuries. Throughout all that time, there was continual social and political evolution. In the beginning, Sparta was ruled by kings (Cowell, 74).
If I would get the opportunity of travelling back, I would surely go to Athens because of its cultural and political values.
