Analyzing Art and Architecture in Humanities

Introduction

Art has an important place in humanities. The life of humans could not become any better without the existence of art in our life. The humanities therefore not only looks at the art and architecture that affects us daily, but also looks at other things like the performing arts and special concepts such as those of the religion, morality, love, life and death, and freedom. Therefore, architecture is more than what it appears on the face of it. It has special relation to our life and shows the space that we live in. In addition, the art also has significant part and portion in our life. It makes our life better and we feel happiness and other feelings due to the presence of art. In addition, art creates the sense of pride in us while appealing to our aesthetic senses (Janaro and Altshuler, 2011).

Analyzing a piece of architecture

One of a very good piece of architecture in my neighborhood is a house with is made up of brownstone, also known as the brownstone building. This house is double storied. In this way, it has one ground floor and another floor on top of it. This house is very beautifully built. The house has a very simple form. It is a plain house with no terrace. However, it has front steps as well as a stoop besides those front steps. The house also has a place for plants that flank the stoop and these have been put with flowering plants. The house has wooden doors and windows. The windows also open into the streets. The house does not appear to have any open space. The entire area is covered.
