Analysis of CJ Data

Introduction

The data set for this assignment contains arrest data from the Uniform Crime Reports on 48 crime variables for 49 of the 50 states and the District of Columbia in 2006. For each crime variable, the number of arrests is given for both adults and juveniles and is given separately for juveniles.

Crime in the Country

The statistical analysis of selected variables is given below:

These variables are selected on the basis of their occurrence and these crimes are frequently and commonly noticed in the society. The selected variables are: Violent Crim, Property Crime, Murder & Nongligent Manslaughter, Forcible Rape, Robbery, Motor Vehicle Theft and Fraud.

Juvenile Crime In The Country

In a report issued by the Bureau of Justice Statistics and the Ministry of Justice in the U.S. in March 2009 that the number of prisoners has reached its highest levels, including nearly 2.4 million inmates. The United States still retains the largest number of prisoners in the world and the highest rate of incarceration in the world.

And under the Federal Bureau of Prisons and the Prison Service the U.S. this practice in 2008; still Immigration and Customs Enforcement U.S. lacked sufficient restrictions on the practice.

And tens of thousands of prisoners in the United States each year for sexual abuse by staff or other prisoners, because the officials failed to take necessary measures to protect them. In 2003, Congress passed the Law on the Elimination of rape in prisons, which established the National Commission for the Eradication of rape in prison, charged with studying the causes and consequences of rape in prison.
