The 1980 notion of politically correct by knowing this one could be intolerant of those that were not. To prevent free speech is there a law or regulation that stops anyone from exercising free speech?] To those they disagreed with this.
Introduction
On November 5, 2009 Major Nidal Malik Hasan a psychiatrist in the U.S. Army, opened fire at a Soldier Readiness Center on Fort Hood base in Texas. It resulted in the death of 13 soldiers and an unborn baby, and 30 others wounded. The U.S. army has to deal with tough difficulties but how they handle these difficulties in alignment to hold America protected is what is being question. The Washington Post headlines on 11/11/09 read “Hasan's Ties Spark Government Blame Game” “FBI, Pentagon Seek to Explain how Fort Hood Shooting Suspect's alleged extremist contacts didn't raise flags (http://rawstory.com).”
Discussion
Is this what our future holds, even the federal agencies are afraid to stop someone because of political correctness? The Military and other agencies were aware that Hasan was communicating with Muslim radical yet nothing was done.
President Barack Obama described the Fort Hood massacre as “the twisted logic that led to this tragedy,” the federal (www.pbs.org)agencies were conflicted about what the Defense Department terrorism investigator looked into Hasan's relationship with Anwar al-Awlaki an imam who has recently been released for a jail in Yemen. Military officials denied knowing such information.
Terrorist task force that is overseen by the FBI was notified of such communication, the information was handed over to defense Criminal Investigation Service employee that work in the task force the information was compiled form December 2008 to early 2009. It was concluded that no further investigation was warranted and the reason given was that Hasan was writing a research paper on the effects of war in Iraq and Afghanistan. The suspect perpetrator, Nidal Malik Hasan, a U.S. Army foremost, psychiatrist, and American-born Muslim of Palestinian fall, was shot by citizen policeman officers. He is paralyzed from the waist down and being held under hefty guard in a protected locality of Brooke Army Medical Center at Fort Sam Houston, Texas.[4] Hasan has been ascribed with 13 enumerations of premeditated killing and 32 enumerations of tried killing under the Uniform Code of Military Justice; he may face added allegations at court-martial.
Meanwhile other red flags were going off and nothing was done. Hasan's coworkers that oversaw his methods on training become concern about his religious views, iritic behavior months before the shooting. He became a concern for his colleagues at Walter Reed Army medical Center but most importantly the military medical school. Hasan was warning his colleagues “decrease adverse events” meaning the military should allow Muslim soldiers to leave the army without objection instead of fighting against other Muslims.
Questions should be asked about all the opportunities that were missed to prevent such a tragedy. Most officials that have been interviewed speak anonymously as each agency is trying to shift the blame their rivals in other ...
