This letter is directed to one of my colleagues Mr. Jones, who is going to take the charge as Mathematics teacher in my place at the University of Hamburg, Germany. In this letter, I have highlighted the services of Carl Fredriech Gauss, in whose honor the Center of Excellence in Mathematics is named. Mathematics came naturally to Gauss, who is said to have corrected his father's wage calculations when he was aged three.
