Where do men and women, boys and girls, learn about sex? What is the impact of those influences? Throughout childhood, adolescence, and into adulthood people learn about sex from many sources, including parents, schools, friends, siblings, and media outlets such as movies, television, magazines, song lyrics, videos, and the Internet. For example, we may learn about French kissing from an older brother's stories, orgasms from a pornographic movie, oral sex from an erotic web site, and rape from a television movie. On the other hand, because mass media are becoming more accessible to adolescents in Nevis, it is also becoming a way for individuals to inform themselves and witness sexual behavior (Brown, 42-45). Therefore, mass media also has its disadvantages in terms of influencing teens in their sexual behavior. Adolescents, exposed to uncensored media, which creates a negative impact on the personality of girls. Empirical evidence suggests that television and other media influence adolescent's attitudes and behaviors (Werner-Wilson, Fitzharris & Morrissey, 303-313). In this paper, we would be discussing the factors that shape the sexual behavior of girls in Nevis.

Adolescent Sexuality
It is apparent that the age for reaching puberty has gone down. The body goes through a biological shift that dramatically changes the adolescent physiology anatomy, and physical appearance. The increase in the levels of the sex hormones, brings in an array of changes in the body of adolescents in puberty. Girls' breats starts to grow and have their first menstruation. Developing earlier than they did in the past, adolescents bodies mature at a higher rate as compared to their minds. Increasingly earlier physical development offers a possible explanation as to why adolescents see to do things earlier than their parents (Chapin, 799-811). Since adolescent are growing faster into adults, they have to match to the social burden that they are face. Society in Nevis has become more sexual over the years and so adolescents feel forced to adapt to society by adjusting themselves to the sexual content showed in the media.
Sexual content in multimedia
To begin with, there are many types of media that may end up influencing teens in their sexual behavior. Among others, these forms of media include movies, television and music videos. Research demonstrated that adolescents imitate sexual behaviors seen in movies or theatres. Girls in Nevis reported that they got influenced by the styles of celebrities in movies and wanted to sleep with men after it. Although sexual content on television is abundant, it often provides information about sex that teenagers do not get elsewhere. However, many messages about sexuality shown on television are unlimited, stereotypical and potentially harmful (Ward et al., 1999). Music videos, being part of the media, also have an influence on adolescent's sexual behaviors. Today's youth intrigued by sexuality and these explicit music videos that are available to the public incites them sexually in a negative way. It has shown in Greenberg, B.S., & Busselle, R. study in (1996), that the number of adolescent sexual partners can be predicted ...
