Introduction

The debate on the topic of abortion is creating complex situation in America. The supporting side of this debate strongly believes that they are right. But, in actual sense they are wrong. The embryo is a individual from the instant of conception. According to Shettles, findings have identified that human life is very important in every aspect. Most female supporters do not trust the fetus is a person. They do not believe that abortion is murder because they consider the aborted fetus a mass or cells or tissue (Shettles, 1986). Abortion is illegal and should not be permitted at any cost. It is against innocent human life, which is wrong under nearly any situations. An unborn baby is more than potential life(Alberman, 1995).

The coming baby has right to see the world and it should not be considered replaceable. After conception, no happening occurs in the development of the fetus that indicates a change in the fetus from not being human to evolving one. Human life starts with conception. A middle-aged person, a teenager, and an unborn baby are all in stages of human life. (Schwarz, 1990) Killing the unborn baby is no more justifiable than killing the two other people. Abortion is an immoral act that should be forbidden by law because it basically amounts to murder.

Abortion Ambivalence

Today, women have rights to terminate their unwanted pregnancy. But, it is unethical. These women did not accept abortion with the cavalier attitude that some might contend. One-half (52.9 percent) considered other alternatives before choosing abortion. The other half (47.1 percent) of the women were certain from the moment their pregnancy was confirmed that they wanted to have an abortion, thus claiming no ambivalence. (Ashton, 1980) It is reasonable to assume that consideration of other alternatives to abortion signifies a woman's emotional conflict or ambivalence in accepting abortion.

As Schwarz (1990) described that there is no morally relevant difference between deliberately killing a human being who has been born and deliberately killing a human being who is still inside his mother. Abortions are thought to be illegal because it is a big sin. Many women receive unsafe abortions done by abortion practitioners. Long term effects of abortions can be horrific for the women getting the abortion. Women can experience complications in future pregnancies. Problems include: extreme bleeding, premature delivery, cervical damage, and sterility. The worst complication of all is death.
