Psychology, in itself, is a science that deals with mental processes and human behavior. However, when we speak of abnormal psychology, we are referring to the scientific study of the causes of emotional and behavior disorder consider neither common nor normal.

This is undoubtedly a very complex issue, which leads us to ask constantly several questions about the nature, origin, causes, possible explanations etc. In addition, many of these questions have an answer that convinces us of the harshness of many of these cases (Comer, 2001).
