Introduction

Henrietta Lacks was a poor African American family and from the descendants of illiterate slaves from Virginia. When she died of cervical cancer on October 4, 1951, and was buried in an unmarked grave whose exact location is not even known, but it is in Lackstown, Virginia. However, after her death, Henrietta has saved many lives and has generated millions of dollars in profits.
