INTRODUCTION

Background

HIV is deadly disease and many people die due to it every year. There are many methods for eliminating HIV aids. The concept of selective toxity was introduced by Paul Elhrlich in early 1900 but this method was not considered reliable in antiviral research. This was because the virologist was of opinion that selective toxity method has a quality of intracellular parasites and thus it is not useful. HIV was also included in this research as well.

Problem statement

One of most deadly disease in this world is HIV. HIV has become one of major concern for people and doctors. Hence due to its deadly consequences researcher were forced to find out curing strategies for it. The concept of selective toxicity was also one of these strategies. The best thing is that this concept was not explored properly earlier.

Significance

A phenomenon in which the immune system of the person is deteriorated day by day is called HIV. This disease is caused by a virus called retrovirus. This disease has been a major concern for doctors and many drugs have been innovated to eliminate these diseases in people. Nowadays it has been established that the HIV inhibition can be achieved through many combinations of antiretroviral drugs and this therapy is called HAART.

Aims and objective

This research aims to answer the following questions

What is HIV?

What is haart?

How HIV is caught by a person?

How HIV can be cured?

How the infected HIV cells are killed while the uninfected cell are left behind?

Professional Guidelines

Some national and international agencies have published treatment guidelines to assist providers in HIV-related treatment decisions. The National Institutes of Health (NIH) posts their federal treatment guideline on the www.aidsinfo.nih.gov website. This guideline instructs providers on when to start treatment and what side-effects patients can expect on the medication. (55) This information is critical to improving medication adherence. (Coull 2009)

Prescribing HAART to patients that are not mentally ready to start these medications can lead to undesired interruptions of the medications (due to side effects for example). And educating providers of the side effects of these medications allows them to instruct their patients on what to expect and what they can do to decrease unwanted symptoms. (Keedy 2009) This type of education improves patient self-efficacy which, in turn, ...
