Introduction

Life offers incredible moments and experiences which remain with life as delightful memories. It is essential to engage in activities and experiences which bring happiness and excitement in life. Furthermore, it is difficult to have a life which is monotonous and has a single purpose. However, memorable experiences can be related to either a pleasurable experience or an unpleasant experience. Fortunately, I have a memorable life experience which brought happiness and excitement in my life. (Ellis & Bochner, 2000)

Discussion

I had the experience to visit a real life paradise last year. The experience was astonishing as, it was one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. Every year in summers, my family plans a trip to different places, and this summer, my family already made plans without consulting me. My father used to work as a Director for the National Wildlife Association in one of the zoos called as “London National Wildlife” in the United Kingdom.

My father received an invitation as a reward from management, to have a trip to the Galapagos Islands along with the whole family. The Galapagos Islands can be found on the east side of the Pacific Ocean about seven hundred miles away from the west coast of South America. (Jackson, 1993). The Galapagos Islands were discovered by chance on 10th of March 1535, when the Dominican friar Fray Tomas de Berlanga, Bishop of Panama, was headed to Peru to comply with an order of the Spanish monarch, Charles V. He was assigned to arbitrate in a dispute between Francisco Pizarro and his minions after the conquest of the Inca Empire. The first map to include the islands were prepared by Abraham Ortelius and Mercator around 1570. The islands were described as "the Galopegos Insulae (Turtle Island).

As far as the last family trip is concerned, it had been a disaster experience for me. I fractured my right leg during cycling on mountain areas. Therefore, I did not expect to make it on my next family trip. Even though I did not agree to go on the next trip, my father insisted to come along and take the delightful opportunity to experience the island. I hoped that the new trip would not be as miserable as the last one so I decided to pack my bags for the trip. The whole family, including my father, mother and my three brothers, left our home for a trip to the Galapagos Islands. Ecuador was the nearest piece of land from the Galapagos Islands. Therefore, our plane landed there. Afterwards, there was a small aircraft which the management of the zoo had arranged for us, waiting at the Ecuador airport to take us on the island. There were men, who loaded our luggage and bags on the aircraft, and then we took off on our journey to the island.
