This article discusses different environmental policies regarding the use of land and the wastages of materials (Sass, 2009). The article discusses that o devise methods and environmental tools to analyze the impact of proposed development, the Directive on Environment Impact Assessment (EIA) for projects and the Directive on Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) for plans and programmes are the two main tools used in this task (Sass, 2009). These make sure significant environmental impacts are identified, assessed and taken into account throughout the decision-making process.
