Introduction

The start of the 20th Century brought about changes and innovations involving science and technology. This period also brought changes to the arts and literature worlds because of the various changes in philosophy, social, spirituality, and economics.

Pablo Picasso

Pablo Picasso is a well-known artist, born on October 25, 1881, in a small Spanish city, Malaga. His father Don Jose Ruiz was also an artist and his parents came from an aristocratic family. His father was a teacher in the nearby art school. Picasso would later on recall that his father was master at simple and commonplace artistic creation. His father's art would include dining room pictures, pigeons, hares, rabbits, feather and flowers. Picasso's mother was the daughter of a government official. She was optimistic and a cheerful lady. She would always extend her help and support to Picasso. She would extend her moral and financial support to her son and Picasso always respected and loved her.

Today, art pieces which were created by Picasso range as high as 104 million per piece. This places him as one of the highest ranking artists to date. His contributions include co founding the Cubist movement. This is the 20th century “avant-garde art movement” engineered during the 20th Century (McNeese & Picasso, 2006).

Robert frost

Robert Frost was important to American poetry during the first half of the twentieth century because he maintained traditional meter, structure, and themes during a time when modernism was the dominant poetic mode. He was a popular poet, but he never sacrificed his art for that popularity. His style was plain, but his poetic structures were complex.
