Introduction

Decision making is one of the most complex process and task in the world. It needs a through and comprehensive evaluation and assessment of the various options that are available. This process would involve screening and identification of various pros and cons of each option, and analysis as to which options provide maximum returns on minimum possible costs. Effective decisions cannot be made summarily. It involves a comprehensive process of strategy formulation and efficient employment of the most effective strategies. Decision is then the outcome of the process. Hence, the effectiveness of a decision is directly related to the effectiveness of the strategy. Strategy can be defined as a plan of action that identifies the long-term direction of the organisation. It is also defined as a future plan of action.

Part 3A)

Tourism is now considered a major component of contribution to the national economy. The most pertinent example in this case is that of Switzerland.

The place that has a lot of potential in the context of tourism attraction is Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE). Dubai has recently emerged as one of the most dynamic financial and business hub of the world and a very popular tourist destination. The fact that Dubai is home to the world's tallest building Burj-Al Khalifa, speaks volumes about its significance in the financial hub. Prelude to the development of tourism strategies about the place, it would be essential to identify the popular tourist attractions of the place (Thetourismcompany.com. 2013). Dubai over the years has emerged from a mere desert to one of the most developed urban cities of the world. It has exotic luxury beaches such as Fujairah, which is a very popular spot for the beach tourists. It has desert safaris to offer for the more adventure-seeking tourists. It also offers ice-skiing spots for the skiing tourists. The Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF) event which is held every year is also another tourist attraction that it has to offer.

The company in the development of a destination management plan should highlight the fact that Dubai in all the attractive tourist locations, comes with an additional advantage of cheap prices. The management also needs to consider that Dubai holds an international significance, due to its strategic location and the viable business environment it has to offer. This is also one of the most attractive features for potential tourists. The climate of the place is mostly warm and humid, which is attractive for the beach-tourists.
