Women Suffrage Movement

Introduction

The woman suffrage movement initially began in the year 1848, at Seneca Falls New York when the convention for first women rights took place. After that for the next fifty years, the supporters of the women suffrage movement dedicated their time and worked really hard to educate the public about the woman suffrage. Initially the supporters were leaded by the Susan Anthony and many others women pioneers who worked hard for this movement. The basic aim was to change and pass the constitutional amendment at congress which can help in developing equivalent rights of men and women. The very first example considered in American history where woman demanded her right to vote was in the 17th century. (1848-1861)As the century turned many women reformers at the club movement and settled house of movement tried to pass the legislative reform for their rights. During this era many politicians were not willing to hear the voice of women's and they opposed the women suffrage movement. Over a period of time women gradually realizes that if they want to achieve the reform for their rights they must win the race or rights to vote. This was the most basic reason for turning the small reform movement to the mass women suffrage movement.

Later on, the quest for women's citizenship meant fighting a new battle field deepen and refine involving partnerships with key sectors and groups at the national level. This affected a large organization to the detriment of the women's movement, but the above was offset by the feverish activity that triggered the demand for the vote, which allowed the movement to improve and strengthen its presence on government bodies. During the mid of 1879 and 1880 many women's founded group and came into existence, this existence resulted in the advancement of the women suffrage movement due to which they were successful in acquiring the fifteenth amendment. On the other hand there were many other women who were disappointed. (Elizabeth Cady 1985) The bill which was passed at the congress did not give them right to vote and make a selection for the politician. One of the association for this movement named as women suffrage association were successful in maintaining the level of alliance to the some extent. The Association was headed by the reformers named as Julia Ward and Lucy stone. The alliance was maintained with those male abolitionists who campaigned for the women's rights. This alliance was condemned by the members of the national women suffrage association led by the Susan B Anthony and Elizabeth Cady Stanton. Due to this the only one allies of the movement led to the federal amendments in the rights of women suffrage.
