U.S. Immigration Report

Introduction

Immigration has been an important part of human history and can be traced in all the ages or eras, where people left their native places and moved to new ones in search of betterment (Anderson, 1986). In fact, immigration can be defined as a process in which individuals move from their own country of residence to a foreign country (Anderson, 1986). United States of America can be seen as a biggest example whose immigration policies received a widespread attention as well as criticism from different circles including lawyers, immigrants, human rights activists and other researchers. There is no doubt about the fact that mobilization of people from one place to another has not only ignited the trend of globalization but also cause exchange of skills and knowledge.

Discussion

Researchers, in this regard, are generally divided in two domains. One believes that immigration laws should not have lenient policies, while the other group supports flexible immigration laws for every nation willing to come to U.S.A.

Long (1992) believes that U.S.A. is the largest country with most immigrants per year to support the American economy. He also encourages foreigners by providing valuable information about U.S. immigration system and American culture. In addition, West (2010) identify that many of America's greatest educators, scientists, artists, inventors and entrepreneurs have come from overseas. He says that compete with new world, the US must organize more of an open-door strategy to appeal gifted talents from various other countries. Some researchers highlight the importance of racial issues in U.S. immigration system. Roediger (2008) defines the basic idea regarding race and color, and also reveals that how it was incarnated from 1600 up till now.
